Do I need a character background?

All characters MUST have a detailed background with a minimum number of words based on their level of experience:
Level 1-5 300 words
Level 6-10 700 words
Level 11-15 1000 words (No character reaches these levels without a lot of experiences behind them)

Note: These are simply guidelines not hard and fast rules, some people can say more with less words and some people (Like mike) need an entire paragraph to say hi.
Also all characters are required to have a common information file by the end of their first month as an active player, detailing any information (true or not) that could EASILY be found out by other characters through rumor and innuendo. This file will be kept as update as possible, by both the player and the GMs. The common information files will be kept on the PICL web page, and can include pictures of the character if you wish. This will be the only information available to other players and their characters so make it as detailed (if the character is very open about his past.) or empty (if the opposite is true) as you wish.
